Born in March 1984 in Buftea, Romania, Constantin Lupulescu is an up and coming Romanian GM, a title he earned in 2006.

 

He won Romanian Chess Championship in 2007 and 2010 and played for Romania in the Olympiads of 2004 and 2008.

 

He came clear 1st in the Bucharest 2003 and Bucharest 2006 tournaments, tied for first with Vladislav Nevednichy in Timişoara 2006, came 2nd in the Victor Ciocaltea Memorial in Bucharest 2008 and tied for 4-8th with Tamaz Gelashvili, Anton Filippov, Nidjat Mamedov and Alexander Zubarev in the Open Romgaz Tournament in Bucharest 2008.

 

In the January 2012 FIDE list, he has an Elo of 2648, making him Romania's number two player.
